Christine Crandell is President of New Business Strategies, a marketing strategy consulting firm, where she advises CEOs, Board of Directors, and sales and marketing leaders in North America, Europe and Australia on how to accelerate revenue cycles, sales and marketing alignment and ‘the buyers journey’.

Prior to New Business Strategies, Christine was Senior Vice President of Marketing at Accept Software Corporation where she rebuilt the marketing team to become revenue productive.  Earlier, as Executive Vice President of Marketing, Business Development and Alliances at Egenera, Christine was responsible for transitioning this global company from a hardware-centric to a profitable software OEM business model. Prior to that, she served as chief marketing officer at Ariba where she retooled marketing and led the transition from an on-premise to a SaaS business model. Her career also includes management positions with SAP, Oracle and PriceWaterhouse.

Christine Crandell has more than 20 years of executive management, marketing and business development experience in technology. She sits on several advisory boards including Coupa, Gutenberg Communications and SVForum. She is a frequent speaker, blogger for Forbes.com and writer with articles published in Business Week, B2B Marketing, Investor Business Daily, CMO.com, and Sandhill.com. 

She is known for leveraging her personal experience of having been "in the trenches" and "moved the needle" in her writing, blogging and speaking. Her approach to marketing and strategy has led to her recognition as one of Silicon Valley’s Most Influential Women for 2010 by the Silicon Valley/San Jose Business Journal. Ms. Crandell holds a Masters in Business Administration from Florida Atlantic University and a Doctorate (abd) from Golden Gate University.

James Crandell, Chairman of NBS Consulting Group, Inc., (NBS or New Business Strategies) has been a management advisor for over twenty-five years to early and growth stage companies in the areas of strategic planning and finance. In recent years, Mr. Crandell has shifted his priorities to where he now serves, principally, as a management coach to business executives.

Throughout his career, Mr. Crandell has been known for his successful creative, sometimes contrarian, solutions to business and management issues. Earlier in his career, he authored and spoke on a variety of topics dealing with strategic planning and raising capital at business and professional conferences including as a guest on radio and television programs and as a lecturer at universities. Mr. Crandell also wrote and co-produced a ten-week business television series in conjunction with the Public Broadcasting Service ("PBS") which addressed the planning, financing, and merger and acquisition needs of growing companies.

Prior to forming NBS/New Business Strategies, Mr. Crandell enjoyed a distinguished career and was one of the original members of the Entrepreneurial Services Group with Arthur Young and Company (now Ernst & Young). He led the business planning, financial forecasting and valuation practices in one of Arthur Young's fastest growing markets. Mr. Crandell has two undergraduate degrees (B. Com (Hon.) and B. Adm) from the University of Ottawa in Canada and an MBA from Florida Atlantic University. He is licensed CPA in California and Florida, a member of several professional organizations including the American and Florida Institutes of CPAs, the California Society of CPAs, among others.  Over the years he has been recognized both domestically and internationally for his leadership, achievements and exceptional professional and community service. He is a supporter of Tibet House in New York, Land of Medicine Buddha in Soquel, CA and the Santa Cruz Art League.

During the last several years he has chosen a rural lifestyle living remotely in the Santa Cruz Mountains studying eastern mysticism, Zen, mythology and Buddhism, while maintaining his association with New Business Strategies.  As part of his inward journey he has also focused on songwriting and music activities including producing two popular CDs and currently serves as a music industry advisor in the areas of planning and marketing. He is an avid sailor and spends part of the year at his lake house north of Toronto, Canada.
